1st Annual Chile Cook-Off – March 28th
Mar 9th, 2009 | By Rodney | Category: Local Events, Tastings
So, is it Chile or Chilli or … “Chile” is the Spanish spelling of the word, but you’ll see it spelled differently wherever you travel. For example, in Australia and England the word is often spelled “chilli”. Other variations are “chilie”, “chillie”, “chilley” and even “chilly” (which to North Americans describes the temperature outside on a cool day!). “Chili” is the name of a cooked dish, such as “chili con carne” or “chili verde” and doesn’t refer to the chiles themselves.
All of that being said we are soon to be treated with The String Bean’s 1st Annual Chile Cook-Off and what a way to start off a new season of Belmont Rocks!
When: March 28th 11:00am – 6:00pm
Where: The String Bean Fresh Market & Deli
