The basics of a CSA Program is that a farmer offers a certain number of “shares” to the public. The share consists of a box of vegetables. Interested consumers purchase a share (or a “subscription”) and in return receive a box of seasonal produce each week throughout the farming season.

Gruber Farms from St. George South Carolina will have a drop off point right here in Downtown Belmont through-out the Spring and Fall Seasons. Pick Up location will be at the Belmont General Store each Friday thgrough out each season.

Each season run 12 weeks and 3 levels of subscription can be purchased depending on the amount of fresh produce you need each week.

Small Share – ideal for 1 or 2 people — $200.00 per season ($16.66 / week)

Medium Share – Ideal for small family or 3-4 people — $300.00 per season ($25.00 / week)

Large Share – ideal for a large family or 5-6 people – $400.00 per season ($33.33 / week)

When you become a member of Gruber Farms CSA program you invest your money in seasonal vegetables and fruits. Nothing shall interfere with your regular weekly order unless it is totally unpreventable. Many of us are unhappy and unsure of the current troubles we have been dealing with in our country and probably unsure of the government in general but it’s up to us to get involved, educated ourselves on the people we elect that end up representing us and hold them accountable for how they do or don’t represent us. If we, as a nation, want a change then we must make the change ourselves first! Get involved and stay involved starting on the local level or nothing will change.

The highlight each week is Yappy Hour that runs from 2:00pm – 4:00pm where owners and dogs converge on the store. There are doggie treats and doggie daiquiris for the four legged friends and is a great way to help socialize your pet with other dogs and people.

Once a month Happy Dog opens their store for Adoption Day to help try to find homes for forgotten dogs and pups.

Happy Dog Café believes in the importance of giving back to our community. In that vein, Happy Dog is proud to sponsor the first annual “Happy Dog Cafe & Boutique Walk for the Paws” event in Downtown Belmont on May 22nd 2010. This is to be a one mile fun walk for canines and their owners. ALL profits will be donated to the Animal League of Gaston County.

How can you get involved?

You can get involved by signing up and paying only $15.00 for you and your happy dog! In return, you will receive a complimentary t-shirt and your happy dog will receive a bandanna reflecting this great event! You will also be satisfied knowing that you are making a positive step in helping animals and dogs become healthy and happy throughout the greater Gaston and Mecklenburg County region.
